Dr. Ryan McGowan decided that optometry was the field for him while studying for his undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
There, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in 2019, majoring in biology. Utilizing this foundational science-based coursework, he then went on to enroll at Illinois College of Optometry, where he graduated with his Doctorate of Optometry in 2023.
Dr. McGowan enjoys practicing primary-care optometry and all the vast variety it has to offer. He takes great pride in his work, knowing that he is helping his patients see clearly, comfortably, and sustainably for the future.
Outside of work, Dr. McGowan enjoys maintaining an active lifestyle through recreational sports, chiefly soccer and golf.
Being a Chicagoland native, he is a lover of all things Chicago sports and enjoys connecting with patients through these avenues.
